It would be as a pleasant gift for your visitors if they’d see a good designed and informative page in the case if they typed the wrong URL. Surely, everyone likes an attention to his person. And when your visitor sees for example a hint that maybe there was a wrong URL and a sitemap instead of standard page with 404 Error he will be much satisfied.
For this reason you can assign any page of your site the status of error page. This will make it appear when somebody tries to go to a non existing page on your website.
Primarily you already have the default 404 page on your website. But you always can change it to what one you wish.
